KEITH M. WELKER
QUANTITATIVE/MIXED-METHODS UX RESEARCHER

I am a quantitative/mixed-methods UX researcher with a track record in delivering generative and tactical insights with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. With expertise in research design, data analysis, and communicating research findings, I have successfully led and managed numerous research projects throughout my career. My leadership, mentoring, and project management experience have further enriched my ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
As a UX researcher, I have played a crucial role in shaping product decisions by identifying key factors that promote user retention and satisfaction. By conducting quantitative and qualitative studies, I have provided actionable insights that have led to impactful product recommendations and enhancements. This experience also draws heavily upon a data science skillset. For example, I have created product metrics dashboards, visualizations, and automated reports that draw upon and manipulate large and complex data.
I have capabilities as an individual contributor and manager that can drive an organization toward success. As an individual contributor, I have primarily specialized in both foundational and exploratory research. I have years of experience and PhD-level training as a quantitative-focused researcher, but also have experience in qualitative methods, including interviews, concept-testing, and usability testing. As a manager, I have built research teams from the ground up, creating the technical and process infrastructure needed to support ambitious research projects. In doing so, I make sure that team members have the critical mentorship and resources to succeed, along with ensuring that they are working on meaningful and impactful opportunities that will elevate their careers.
In addition to product and strategy insights, my work has resulted in 49 scientific articles, book chapters, op-eds, and white papers to my name. This body of work has garnered over 1800 citations and media coverage from reputable sources such as Time, Wall Street Journal, Science Magazine, and Science Daily.
